Tim Bonin

Tim Bonin’s path to Swiftcurrent includes political and governmental stints in Maine; Virginia; New York; Rhode Island and, most recently, MA-02. During his career, Bonin has spent the bulk of his time organizing activists and/or communicating important messages in order to achieve desired outcomes.

Perhaps his most interesting (and most rewarding) time was spent in the basement of an incredibly effective independent middle school for urban boys who were struggling in their previous schools. The kids who attend San Miguel-Providence learn to place a high value on the things that they can do through a strong emphasis on academics, service and personal responsibility. Bonin witnessed first hand the importance of education and how it alone is the answer to breaking the cyclical nature of poverty. He helped keep the lights on.

During the 2010 cycle, Bonin worked with Swiftcurrent closely and saw first-hand how online messaging must be closely integrated into all aspects of a campaign in order to build a formidable, committed and effective activist base.

Bonin resides in Douglas, MA with his wife and two children. He was elected to the town’s Board of Selectman in May 2010 and currently serves as the chairman of the five member body.
